DayZ

DayZ uses UDP for gameplay and server query traffic. Swarm Hosts mounts the persistent game data under /serverdata. SteamCMD needs credentials for an account that owns DayZ before it can download or update the dedicated server files.

Launch Notes

  1. Choose DayZ.
  2. Enter Steam credentials for a limited-purpose account that owns DayZ. The upstream installer cannot download the server anonymously on hosts that return SteamCMD No subscription.
  3. Leave GAME_PORT=2302 unless you have a specific reason to change the DayZ config inside the container.
  4. Use GAME_PARAMS only for advanced launch flags.

Steam Guard or two-factor prompts can block unattended SteamCMD downloads. For reliable unattended startup, use an account prepared for dedicated-server installs and avoid reusing a personal account with active interactive prompts.

Connect

Players can use the DayZ launcher or in-game browser to direct connect to the published host and primary game port.
